Arthur and the Vendettas are a vocal trio hailing from the wilds of rural East Oxfordshire. Theirs are fields where gramophone records rule, and the internet and mobile phones only exist as ideas in the Village lending library.
For Camp Bestival 2022, the group present their Heaven and Hell Review, inspired by a futuristic coffee bar at 58 Old Compton Street, Soho - a far flung land they can but dream of visiting. The show, performed with vocal harmonies, guitar, bass, washboard, kazoo and Dad dancing, embraces a wealth of original material, British Music Hall, and long-forgotten gems from the 78s-era, made infamous by the likes of Vipers Skiffle Group. Wee Willie Harris, Dickie Pride, Marty Wilde and Billy Fury. No two shows are ever the same - and no-one in the group is allowed to be called Arthur.
