Formed in Wales in 1986 Railroad Bill toured their energetic up-tempo skiffle show for 32 years. Fusing skiffle, the self-taught energy of punk rock, and years of experience busking on street corners they honed a stage show that often felt more like a runaway train on the edge of losing control than a music act. The band’s front line of Dan Nichols (washboard and vocals) Chris Walker (Tea Chest Bass and vocals) and Andy Baillie (Ukulele and vocals) was constant throughout. During their long career they performed in many different countries from Switzerland to Singapore and at hundreds of festivals including 8 appearances at Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk and of course Camp Bestival.
Described by Lonnie Donegan as “Bloody good” and by Mark Kermode as “The most extraordinary live act! What skiffle is all about!”
The band have reformed as a one-off for the first time in five years with a classic line-up especially to be here at the Big Pig’s Ballroom at Bestival on Skiffle Sunday
